Montepulciano Rental started because we got tired of seeing the same generic villa listings — beautiful photos, vague descriptions, and hosts who've never actually been to the property.
We're different. Every villa we list is one we've stayed in, or one we'd happily recommend to family. We know the area intimately — which roads flood in October, which restaurants are actually good, and where to buy the best Pecorino.
We're building the directory we wish existed when we first arrived in Tuscany.
How we work

We don't list everything. If a villa doesn't meet our standard — or if the owner is difficult to work with — it doesn't go on the site. Quality over quantity.

Our story
I (Kyle) moved to Montepulciano in 2022 after years of visiting Tuscany as a tourist. Like most people, I started with Florence, Siena, San Gimignano — the usual circuit. Beautiful, but crowded.
A friend recommended Montepulciano for a long weekend. Within two days I'd decided I wanted to live here. The wine is world-class, the food is honest, the hilltop town is stunningly beautiful, and — most importantly — it's still mostly Italians, not tour groups.
I bought Molino Nobile in 2023, restored it over 18 months, and started hosting guests. The feedback was always the same: "This is exactly what we were looking for, but impossible to find online."
So I decided to fix that. Montepulciano Rental is the directory I wish had existed when I was searching — honest, local, and focused on southern Tuscany rather than trying to cover the entire country.
We're still small. That's intentional. But every villa we add, every guide we write, is vetted and authentic.
